Vastly disappointing. Many faults: could scarcely see the full creature most of the time; its depiction was at first quite obnoxious and un-Godzilla-like and later was also strange; the logic of events was often lacking (although that's not necessarily a serious flaw in a movie of this type), etc. On the other hand it was mildly humorous in its depiction of bureaucratic processes and government sticking points. Also interesting that we got to see some different sorts of government meeting rooms. Curious that the large cast of central characters (government functionaries) were virtually always very well dressed, in fresh and pristine formal clothing. No "human" feeling to it. A few women in significant positions, although very few compared to men. And the ending was left in limbo, although the people seemed to think there was a conclusion. I see there will, after all, be no direct sequel to this, which is good. Must have been terribly costly; the list of major companies at the end that I could read in English was very long. The only worthwhile part of it was the inclusion of a moderate amount of original Godzilla music.
